Winbond hosted its grand "2025 Zero-Carbon Family Day" at National Chi Nan University in Nantou under the theme “Sustainability Role Model: FUN Learning Carnival.” The event brought together employees and their families from northern, central, and southern Taiwan for a day of engaging, eco-friendly activities, fostering a warm and lively atmosphere. Marking the fourth consecutive year of this initiative, Winbond continues to promote low-carbon, sustainable living through fun, educational experiences that combine green practices with family interaction—demonstrating the company’s strong commitment to environmental protection and social responsibility.

To fulfill the “zero-carbon” concept, Winbond once again arranged shuttle transportation for employees across regions to minimize carbon emissions. The company also offset the entire event’s carbon footprint through the purchase of carbon credits. In addition, to reduce paper consumption, the event used digital passes via its mobile app for all game booths and activities. Each employee received a suitcase, encouraging everyone to embrace sustainable practices in everyday life—starting from home to create a greener future together.

Winbond also achieved remarkable milestones in sustainability this year. Its Kaohsiung Fab won the Silver Award at the 7th National Enterprise Environmental Protection Award in its first-ever participation, as well as the Gold Award in the 2025 MOEA Energy Saving Benchmark Awards. Since its establishment, the Kaohsiung facility has integrated energy-saving design principles, including its proprietary “iSystem-Scrubber” combustion-mode intelligent conversion technology, which significantly reduces fuel gas and oxygen consumption during combustion. The fab also employs an energy management dashboard and big data analytics platform to enhance power usage transparency and optimize energy efficiency—demonstrating Winbond’s innovative capabilities in driving smart energy conservation and net-zero transformation within the semiconductor industry.

The successful hosting of the 2025 Zero-Carbon Family Day underscores Winbond’s vision of becoming “a hidden champion in providing sustainable semiconductors to enrich human life”. It also deepens employees’ and families’ awareness and practice of sustainable living. Looking ahead, Winbond will continue to uphold environmental sustainability as a core value, advancing innovation and green product development to create long-term value for society.
