Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency, Ministry of Agriculture – Tree Adoption and Protection Program
In partnership with the Chiayi Branch of the Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency, Winbond planted four native tree species—Zelkova serrata, Liquidambar formosana, Acacia confusa, and Melia azedarach—across 29,400 square meters of state-owned forest land in Tainan City and Chiayi County. Through reforestation, the initiative aims to restore hillslope vegetation cover. Furthermore, ongoing tending and silvicultural practices are applied to maintain local vegetation profiles, enrich local biodiversity, expand species habitats, and preserve ecological stability. These actions maximize critical ecosystem services provided by forests, including soil and water conservation, disaster mitigation, soil fertility maintenance, and water flow regulation.
Kaohsiung Plant Afforestation and Reforestation Program
In collaboration with National Chung Hsing University, Winbond is undertaking a 30-year afforestation and reforestation program at its Kaohsiung plant. The project involves planting five native tree species—Bischofia javanica, Palaquium formosanum, Acacia confusa, Melia azedarach, and Fraxinus griffithii—to achieve carbon sequestration, landscape greening and beautification, and air purification, thereby stabilizing the natural ecological environment.

Carbon Sink Afforestation Program
IIn 2024, Theaceae Conservation Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "Theaceae Conservation"), an affiliate of Winbond, partnered with National Ilan University to implement afforestation and reforestation efforts aimed at rehabilitating forest land previously degraded as an abandoned gravel plant and overgrown with weeds and Leucaena leucocephala, thereby restoring the original riparian ecosystem of the Lanyang River. By integrating drone technology, the initiative pursues sustainable smart forestry and advances green technology. The goal is to optimize forest land utilization and enhance carbon sink capacity while closely aligning with ecological benefits and value-added outcomes, ensuring the maintenance of a healthy forest ecosystem alongside forest land development.
